Enabling the workforce that will make net zero possible

Hi folks,

As we set our sights on ambitious environmental goals like achieving net zero emissions by 2050, we’ve taken a look at the figures for you to see where we have to concentrate our efforts. ⚡️️ When you realize that Energy accounts for over 73% of the world’s CO2 emissions, it’s then pretty clear that this sector is at the heart of the problem.

Yet, our path to effective solutions is full of challenges, the most significant being the shortage of skilled labor. “The demand is about to explode, but the supply is shrinking”. Cristian Pinto, investor at daphni, just published an article about (Re)Building Europe: Enabling the workforce that will make net zero possible.

The real challenge in the coming years will be to attract talent from younger generations and to transition traditional blue-collar workers into green jobs.

🗺 To solve the green-collar labor shortage, some European startups are actively working on the subject. Discover the mapping in the article. Have a look; you probably don’t know them all.

Until the next time,

The daphni team
